Founded in 1958,Hunan Rare Earth Metal Materials Research Institute Co., Ltd. (HNRE), formerly known as Hunan Metallurgical Research Institute, is one of the first two institutions in China engaged in rare earth smelting, separation and application research. HNRE is the decorated unit successfully developed by China’s "two bombs and one satellite" project and the national technological innovation demonstration enterprise.
HNRE has 261 employees, including 146 professionals and technical personnels (33 senior titles and 44 intermediate titles), 30 senior technicians, 5 doctors, 42 masters and 1 expert rewarded special government allowance. Regarding the organization structure, there are 7 functional departments, 3 scientific research entities, 4 wholly-owned subsidiaries and 3 shareholding companies.
